Destination Wedding in Italy

Romance at Palazzo di Piero

In the summer of 2023, I was able to accompany the beautiful free wedding of Jana and Jakob in Tuscany as a wedding photographer for a destination wedding. The location, Palazzo di Piero, exuded a touch of Romeo and Juliet and Harry Potter on a picturesque hill surrounded by vineyards. The entire wedding party was accommodated on the grounds, and guests traveled all the way from Munich, Germany to celebrate this special day.

A romantic location

The old manor house in Tuscany, the Palazzo di Piero, provided a dreamlike backdrop for the outdoor wedding. In addition to the historic estate, there were other buildings on the grounds, some of which could be reached on foot and some by car. The country house is very old and offered numerous beautiful photo corners, but it was definitely not an all-inclusive location.

The day before the destination wedding

The day before the wedding, the guests arrived and they were busy helping with the set-up. Jana and Jakob did almost everything themselves. There was a get-together with an exuberant party atmosphere and pizza to get to know each other and arrive.

The wedding day

On the wedding day, everyone started well rested and relaxed after the party the day before. In the morning they chilled by the pool before the “getting ready” began. Both Jana and Jakob were photographed in two different suites while they prepared for the big moment.

The emotional wedding ceremony

The wedding ceremony took place in a small clearing in the garden, surrounded by tall trees. From the back of the building you walked through the garden, allowing you to see the beautiful manor house in the background. The wedding officiant, a family friend of the couple, gave a very emotional and personal ceremony that touched everyone’s hearts.

Champagne reception and couple shoot

After the ceremony, the wedding party gathered in the olive tree garden for a champagne reception. Group photos were then taken by the pool. While the guests took a break and enjoyed themselves, the couple used this time for a romantic couple shoot.

Dinner and party in the courtyard

The dinner and party took place in the castle courtyard, which was decorated with fairy lights. The buffet offered delicious Italian food and the atmosphere was exuberant, relaxed and very personal. A drone photo by Roberta shows the magical atmosphere that prevailed that evening.

Farewell to an Unforgettable Destination Wedding

The next day it was time to say goodbye. The guests started their journey home and everything from the previous day was dismantled and packed up again. Meanwhile, Jana and Jakob reminisced about the unforgettable moments of their destination wedding in Tuscany.
