How I create your unforgettable wedding day

In this blog post, I would like to give you an insight into my preparations & behind the scenes as your wedding photographer. How I prepare for a wedding day, how I design the day itself and what follows immediately afterwards.
Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life. That’s why I prepare myself extensively for your big day, so that nothing stands in the way of your unique memories.

Preliminary Consultation: Behind the Scenes of a Wedding Photographer

About 1-2 weeks before the wedding, I will meet with you in a call to make final arrangements. I will ask you about your wishes for the photos and send you a questionnaire, which I will use to gather inspiration tailored to you. WWith your help I also draw up a list of the group photos that absolutely have to be taken. This information is crucial for the smooth running of the shoot.

Contacting the witnesses

If available, I contact the witnesses to find out if there are any surprises or speeches that the couple should not know about. These details can make the day even more emotional and allow me to capture these moments.

Preparations the Day Before: Essential Behind-the-Scenes Work for a wedding photographer

The day before the wedding, I prepare intensively to ensure that everything runs smoothly. I check all the notes on my phone and check the routes using Google Maps. I also get my outfit ready and charge my batteries. My equipment for the wedding is thoroughly cleaned and packed into my rucksack. I set my alarm clock for the next day, including snooooooze. I go to bed early to make sure I’m well rested.

On the wedding day, I get up early and start with one (or more) large cup of coffee. I read through my notes again and prepare myself mentally for the day. On the way to the wedding venue, I listen to some good music to get me in the right mood. During the wedding day, I always keep an eye on the timing so that no important moment is missed. At the farewell, I let the couple know when they will receive a first preview of the pictures and what the next steps are.

Post-Wedding: The Magic of Editing & Delivering Your Photo Gallery

After the wedding, I back up the pictures (two times just to be sure) to make sure nothing gets lost. I then select the best photos (culling) and create a preview for the couple. Within 4-6 weeks after the wedding, they will receive their complete gallery of images to share with their loved ones. This final step is a crucial part of behind the scenes of a wedding photographer, ensuring that every captured moment is polished and delivered beautifully.
